The Department of Art History at the University of Chicago solicits applications for an open rank faculty position in modern and contemporary art with a preferred start date of 1 July 2016. Applicants with a range of interests within this field are especially encouraged to apply. For Assistant Professor candidates, PhD or defended dissertation by 30 June 2016 is highly preferred.

Complete application materials include cover letter (including discussion of research plans and teaching interests), CV, names and contact information for three professional references, and two writing samples.
