Appel à canditature : treize postes d’éditeurs pour le ‘Art Market Dictionary’, éditions De Gruyter (avril 2015)

Vente Sotheby's, New York, 2014De Gruyter is seeking to appoint Section Editors to work on the Art Market Dictionary (AMD). The Section Editors are invited to contribute to the project’s conception, and each will work on a specific country or geographic area to complete the entries list and suggest/locate authors for these entries. They will receive a small yearly compensation and appear as Co-Editors of the final publication.
The AMD is the first encompassing reference work on the art market and its historical development. The forthcoming first part (approximately 3 volumes) will encompass Europe and North America in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The guiding principle is to include corporate entities (art fairs, auction houses, galleries) and individuals (dealers, advisers, agents) if they pursued sustained or significant activities in the trade. We anticipate a total of approximately 5,000 entries.

The AMD’s sections are currently envisaged as follows :

USA,
Canada,
Mexico,
Cuba,
Jamaica,
Bermuda (two editors);
UK and Ireland;
France and Monaco;
Germany;
Italy,
the Balkans,
Greece,
Malta,
Cyprus;
The Netherlands,
Belgium,
Luxembourg;
Austria,
Switzerland,
Lichtenstein;
the Iberian Peninsula;
Scandinavia;
Eastern Europe and Russia;
Auction houses and art fairs in Europe and North America.

The section boundaries may be subject to review depending on the applications received. Section Editors must be available for an initial editorial meeting with Dr. Johannes Nathan (Editor-in-Chief) and Dr. Emily Evans (Editor) to take place in Berlin in April 2015.

Please contact Emily Evans (emily.evans@degruyter.com) if you are interested or would like to receive further details.
