Appel à publication : « L’atelier »/ »The workshop », revue Perspective, 2012-2.

Perspective, la revue de l’INHA, publication semestrielle de l’Institut national d’histoire de l’art, consacrera en juin 2014 un numéro thématique à l’Atelier. Ce sujet sera abordé de manière diachronique – aussi bien pour l’Antiquité, le Moyen Âge, la période moderne que l’époque contemporaine. Les articles s’efforceront de rendre compte de la notion d’atelier de la manière la plus large et sous les approches les plus variées. Quatre angles principaux peuvent d’ores et déjà être définis :

• l’atelier dans sa dimension matérielle et technique (chantiers, matières premières, etc.)
  l’atelier dans sa dimension socio-économique (production, réseaux, échanges, etc.)
  l’atelier dans sa dimension pédagogique
  l’atelier comme représentation (visuelle, littéraire, collections, etc.).

La rédaction attire votre attention sur la spécificité des articles retenus pour Perspective : cette revue consacrée à l’actualité de la recherche en histoire de l’art publie exclusivement des articles de synthèse à vocation historiographique et de bibliographie critique sur des sujets divers, de l’Antiquité au XXIe siècle.

Cet appel concerne spécifiquement deux rubriques : « TRAVAUX » et « ACTUALITÉ ».

• « TRAVAUX » : ces textes présentent un état de la recherche avec une historiographie critique et une bibliographie sélective sur un sujet donné (40 000 signes, espaces comprises ; bibliographie de 15 000 signes, espaces comprises).

• « ACTUALITÉ » : ce type d’article offre un focus sur un point précis (20 000 signes, espaces comprises).

Modalités de soumission

Les propositions des chercheurs français ou étrangers pourront être adressées par courriel à la rédaction (revue-perspective@inha.fr) jusqu’au 21 janvier 2013. Rédigées en français ou en anglais, elles devront comprendre un synopsis de 3 000 signes (espaces comprises) accompagné des références bibliographiques essentielles sur le sujet, ainsi qu’un curriculum vitae de l’auteur.

En cas de sélection d’une proposition, le texte définitif devra nous parvenir pour le 1er décembre 2013.

Modalités d’évaluation

Chaque proposition sera soumise au comité de rédaction concerné (Antiquité, Moyen-Âge, Moderne, Contemporain). Les contributions seront évaluées selon leur concordance avec la politique éditoriale de la revue et selon leur qualité scientifique et rédactionnelle. L’équilibre du sommaire entre les différentes périodes et les sujets traités seront également pris en compte dans le processus de sélection.

La rédaction tient à préciser que les articles de recherche ne seront pas acceptés ; seuls les articles de synthèse historiographique et de recherche critique seront examinés par les comités de rédaction.

In June 2014, Perspective, the French National Institute of Art History’s semestrial periodical, will be dedicating a thematic issue to the topic of the Workshop. The subject will be approached diachronically, and will cover all periods from antiquity and the middle ages to the modern and contemporary periods. The articles will endeavour to consider the notion of the workshop in its widest possible sense, and through a great variety of approaches. Four main angles can now be defined :
• The workshop in its material and technical dimension (work sites, primary materials, etc.)
• The workshop in its socio-economic dimension (production, networks, exchanges, etc.)
• The workshop in its pedagogical dimension.
• The workshop as a representation (visual, literary, collections, etc.)

The editorial board would like to draw your attention to the specificity of the articles accepted for publication in Perspective : this periodical is dedicated to current research in art history, and only publishes review articles with a historiographical vocation and with critical bibliographies on a variety of subjects, from antiquity to the 21st century.

This appeal specifically concerns two rubrics : ’TRAVAUX’ and ’ACTUALITE’ • ’TRAVAUX’ : These texts present an overview of research through critical historiography and a selective bibliography on a given subject (40,000 characters, including spaces ; bibliography 15,000 signs, including spaces).
• ’ACTUALITE’ : This type of article focuses on a specific point (20,000 characters, including spaces)

Submission process
Proposals from French or foreign researchers may be addressed by email to the editorial board (revue-perspective@inha.fr) until the 21st January 2013. They should be written in French or English and should include a synopsis of 3000 characters (including spaces) and be accompanied by the essential bibliographical references on the subject, as well as the author’s curriculum vitae.
For selected proposals, the final text should be handed in to us for the 1st December 2013.

Evaluation process
Each proposal will be submitted to the editorial board concerned (antiquity, middle ages, modern period, contemporary period). Contributions will be evaluated according to their concordance with the editorial policy of the review, the quality of their writing and their scientific value. The balance of the summary between the different periods and subjects dealt with will also be taken into account in the selection process. The editorial board would like to clarify that research articles will not be accepted, only works of historiographical synthesis and critical research will be considered by the editorial committees.
