Doktorierendenkolloquium | Kunstgeschichtliche Forschungen zum 15. und 16. Jahrhundert: Projekte, Traditionen, Methoden
The colloquium offers insights into current dissertation projects in art history on the 15th and 16th centuries and aims to provide a forum for doctoral candidates to exchange ideas and network. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their projects on the art of the 15th and 16th centuries and the associated critical discourses.
The colloquium will be held partly at the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Stiftung and partly at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich. Doctoral candidates are invited to present their dissertation topics in a presentation of up to 20 minutes. Presentations should devote equal attention to the dissertation’s content, the methodology employed, and a reflection on the chosen interpretative approaches. Contributions focusing on classical genres such as architecture, painting, sculpture, and the decorative arts are just as welcome as projects examining other cultural-historical phenomena of the visual arts or exploring discourses on art criticism and historiographical perspectives within the discipline. German, French, Italian, and English are accepted languages for the presentations. The colloquium will be complemented by an evening lecture.
Travel expenses can be reimbursed up to a maximum of €250. Accommodation in Munich will be provided for two nights.
