The Department of Art History at the University of Vienna is one of the oldest and biggest centers for research and education in its field. A full post-doc position (University Assistant) is available for 6 years from November 1, 2017.

Areas of work: Coordination of the Lab for Cognitive Research in Art History (http://kunstgeschichte.univie.ac.at/en/forschungsprojekte/crea/), development of a research project leading to a second book (‘Habilitation’), independent teaching (4 hours per week), assistance of Prof. Raphael Rosenberg in teaching and research, participation in the administration of the department.
Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week. Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc: gross annual salary of € 50.772,40 / ca. € 33.556 net of taxes and insurances; relevant work experience might result in assessment to a higher salary grade).

Profile: Excellent PhD in art history, cognitive science, or psychology; excellent computer skills; team player.
Documents to be submitted: letter of motivation, CV, copies of diploma, specimen of writing (table of contents, introduction, one chapter, summary/conclusion of the PhD thesis), copies of the reports of the PhD thesis (if available), expose of a research project (preferably in the field of cognitive research in art history, max. 5 pages).
