SVAD LogoThe School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a non-tenure earning, nine-month lecturer in Art History or Visual Culture. The anticipated start date is August 2016, pending the availability of funding.

The position requirements are to teach four courses per semester, engage in committee service, participate in campus and community life, and maintain regular office hours. UCF supports and rewards teaching excellence. The successful candidate is expected to design and deliver both undergraduate and graduate courses that inspire approximately 3,000 SVAD majors and minors in the following areas of study: animation, architecture, art history, digital media, film, game design, graphic design, information design, applied design, and studio art.

Position Minimum Qualifications 
Ph.D. in Art History and/or Visual Culture from an accredited institution, with emphasis on global contemporary practices and theory. Evidence of college level teaching, effective communication skills and technological proficiency.

Preferences
Contemporary art historian able to incorporate critical theory and practices within a global context (outside Latin America). Must be willing to create new and deliver pre-existing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and teach large lectures (200+ students), mixed mode, and online courses.
