CONTEMPART ’15 / 4th International Contemporary Art Conference will take place on June 8-9, 2015 in Istanbul and will be hosted by Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center. (www.nazimhikmetkulturmerkezi.org)

CONTEMPART ’15 is an annual multidisciplinary conference dedicated to study new approaches in contemporary arts worldwide. In 2015, contemporary arts will be focused on the basis of urban life and identities. Individual examples and tendencies dealing with urban identities will be discussed, while the transformation of cities and urban cultures will also be mentioned in terms of their share to shape the current scene of art in different places of the world. Contemporary art, exclusively open to surprises and experiments, continues to be produced in various directions, to be consumed and be put forward ideas. Art continuously renews itself – from new materials to different means of communication, from interactive works to computer games, from new approaches about place to perceptional paradigms and problems of city and nature in the millennium, from new subjects to manifests.

CONTEMPART ’15 Conference opens its doors to studies on contemporary arts related to urban identities representing different identities and tendencies and, of course, on theory of art since 1960s.

CONTEMPART ’15 is coordinated by DAKAM (Eastern Mediterranean Academic Research Center) and will be organized by BİLSAS (Science, Art, Sport Productions) as a part of the Istanbul Art Studies Days / Spring 2015 (IASD ’15) that also includes CONTEMPHOTO ’15 / II.

Contemporary Photography Conference (June 9-10) and CINE CRI ’15 / II. Film Studies and Cinematic Arts Conference (June 10-11) at the same place. Several keynote lectures, artist’s talks and additional events will be organized during Istanbul Art Studies Days and a registration ticket for only one of the conferences will offer free entry to all of the sessions of the three conferences. Each conference focusing on different topics, identity issues has been decided as the common theme of the IASD ’15. Themes
