University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of an assistant professor (two positions) in the Institute of Art History, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences. Please, send your application until April 30, 2023 r.

Requirements

The conditions that the candidate should meet:

  1. Knowledge of the Polish language to a degree enabling conducting classes in this language.
  2. Knowledge of the English language to the extent that allows conducting classes in this language.
  3. The candidate must hold a PhD degree or habilitation in the field of art history (or arts studies); PhD degree or habilitation in the field of culture and religion studies (or culture studies), if the candidate also holds at least BA or MA in the field of art history (or art studies).
  4. Publication in the last five years of a scientific monograph or at least two scientific articles in journals assigned to the discipline of Art Sciences and on the ministerial list of scoring journals.
  5. In the last five years, obtaining, conducting or participating in a national grant of one of the indicated institutions (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, The National Centre for Research and Development, Foundation for Polish Science) or obtaining equivalent financial support for research from national or foreign institutions or submitting at least one application in grant competitions that was assessed positively (in the case of known scores reaching a minimum of 70%) in the last stage of the assessment, but did not receive funding due to lack of funds.
  6. Having a special knowledge of the history of Modern art (from the end of the 18th) and Contemporary art.
  7. Research activity on Modern and Contemporary art documented in publications, with particular emphasis on the history of architecture and / or contemporary art.
  8. Documented teaching experience in higher education (the selection board reserves the right to ask for an open lecture from candidates standing for the competition).
