The Department of Art History at the University of Vienna is one of the oldest and biggest centers for research and education in its field. Two « Prae-doc » positions (75%, University Assistant) are available from March 15th 2021 for four years.

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week. Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade (min. yearly net income 22,860 €).
The positions offer first-hand experience in academia culminating in a PhD diploma. The subject of the PhD should be within the areas of expertise of Prof. Raphael Rosenberg (early modern art history, history of avant-gardes, digital art history and especially cognitive research in art history).

Areas of work: PhD thesis, the assistance of Prof. Rosenberg in teaching and research, independent teaching in art history (one course per semester), participation in the administration of the department.

Profile: Above-average MA in art history, excellent English and or German, good computer skills (knowledge of a programming language would be advantageous).
