Professorship of Medieval Art History and Early Christian and Medieval Archaeology
The University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship of Medieval Art History and Early Christian and Medieval Archaeology.
The candidate is expected to have demonstrated competence in medieval art history and early Christian archaeology in its full range of research and teaching. Additional competence in the field of post-medieval archaeology is desirable as well as extensive experience in international collaborations. The future holder of the position is expected to teach and research his or her field in a theoretically and methodologically sound manner, and to systematically increase its prominence. The candidate is also expected to impart innovative
impulses to the field of medieval art history and archaeology and to strengthen the collaborations with not only the colleagues in the Institute of Art History, but also with colleagues from neighbouring disciplines and from related national institutions and international organizations. Preconditions for employment are: a PhD degree, a successful record in teaching, and a postdoctoral lecturing qualification (Habilitation) or a certificate of similar academic achievement.
The University strives to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching, and applications from suitably qualified female academics are particularly welcome.
