The Mellon funded Centenary Project of the Burlington Magazine Index (1903-2002) is now completed and online. The index is free to access (subject to free registration – Institutions can be linked to the Index through their IP adress) and contains not only a complete index of all articles but also an index of all illustrations contained in the Burlington Magazine 1903-2002.
It is possible to browse as well as search the Index, which contains lists of artists, collectors, museums, patrons, buildings dealers and commercial galleries.
The index facilitates access to the Burlington Magazine not only as a work of reference but also as an important primary source for the study of the art market, art criticism and art scholarship. It fosters a new exploration of the Burlington Magazine as subject of study too.
