Material Conjectures (UK co-authored project) and Andrea Delaplace (PhD candidate in Museum Studies, Paris) have produced a research group, Heritage Immigration and Temporary Fabrications, that presents two strands. Together the strands explore the contested issues surrounding immigration, through the focus of architectural and exhibition practice. The research group is supported by University of Huddersfield and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

A one-day symposium presented by the research group Heritage, Immigration and Temporary Fabrications exploring the politics of ad hoc crisis architectures and the uncertain status of both these and museums of immigration.

What role can space play in mediating and creating ideas of responsibility towards other people and other places? What is immigration heritage?

Speakers:
Material Conjectures (co-authored by Dr Dale Holmes and Dr Kirsten Cooke)
Dr Jonathan Darling (Human Geography, Manchester University)
Andrea Delaplace (PhD candidate, Universite Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne)
Dr Jaspar Joseph-Lester (Reader in Fine Art, Royal College of Arts)
