At the dawn of the 19th century, the invention of new materials, structures, and machinery gradually began to transform the relationship between architecture and architectural tradition, a time coinciding with the establishment of national patent systems. Although it is hard to imagine the innovative, technical, and creative aspects of architecture without patents, it has only been in recent years that they have received increased academic attention in the history of architecture and construction. The purpose of the conference is to explore the devotional, normative, artistic and musical aspects of the Forty Hours Devotion between the sixteenth and the nineteenth century. The idea of the conference sprouts from the recent discovery of a nineteenth-century Forty Hours Macchina in the attic of the church of S. Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. The Macchina will be restored and shown to the public during the 2025 Jubilee; a concert of the Ensemble Correspondance (dir. Sébatien Daucé) and an international conference are planned for the occasion.

Between the 1890s-1970s, women began accessing decision-making roles in museums worldwide. This edited volume proposes a transnational exploration of both the contributions and the challenges of pioneering female curators regarding museum practice, collection-making, and display design. Le séminaire « Patrimoine spolié pendant la période du Nazisme (1933-1945) » organisé par l’INHA en partenariat avec la Mission de recherche et de restitution des biens culturels spoliés entre 1933 et 1945 (ministère de la Culture) et l’Institut national du patrimoine invite Hector Feliciano à revenir sur sa publication fondatrice.
Il y a près de trente ans, en 1995, Hector Feliciano publiait en effet Le musée disparu, un livre sur les spoliations d’œuvres d’art qui fit grand bruit : il mettait aussi en lumière l’inaction des musées qui conservaient des œuvres à l’origine douteuse. La Fondation pour la Sauvegarde de l’art français récompense chaque année un docteur de l’université française pour l’importance et la qualité de ses travaux en histoire de l’art (architecture, arts et patrimoine relevant du domaine français, du Haut Moyen Age à la première moitié du XXe siècle).
