Overview
The scholarship has been created to provide funding over a 12-month period to those engaged in the study of French 18th-century fine and decorative art to enable them to develop new ideas and research that will contribute to this field of art historical study.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be studying, or intending to study, for an MA, PhD, post-doctoral or independent research in the field of French 18th-century fine and decorative arts within the 12-month period the funding is given (i.e. September 2024 – August 2025).
The funding is open to UK and international applicants.

 Réinventions croisées des yôkai 妖怪/ yaoguai 妖怪 / yogoe 妖怪 요괴 en Asie orientale de 1900 à aujourd’hui : art et illustration au-delà des stéréotypes graphiques et narratifs
Journées d’étude organisées par Mary Picone (EHESS), Marie Laureillard (Université Paris Nanterre), Vincent Durand-Dastès (Inalco), Michael Lucken (Inalco).
Les yôkai/yaoguai/yogoe sont des êtres étranges, mystérieux, changeants, parfois mystificateurs qui ne peuvent être définis de façon satisfaisante à l’écrit, d’autant plus lorsqu’on tente des analyses comparées. Le Japon est le pays où la représentation de ces êtres a eu le plus de succès sur la scène internationale. The prize, funded by CONIVNCTA FLORESCIT Friends of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, honours the memory of Willibald Sauerländer (1924–2018), from 1970 to 1989 director of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte and an honorary professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.

The Jutta Held Award honours and supports early career research in art history with a socio-political focus.
The award, funded by Stiftung Kritische Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften, honours the memory of Jutta Held (1933–2007), one of the first female professors of art history.
