Deutsch-Französische Perspektiven der Kathedralforschung nach dem Brand von Notre-Dame, 23.-27. März 2026.

Organisiert vom Deutschen Forum für Kunstgeschichte (DFK Paris), der Otto-Friedrich Universität Bamberg und der Universität Aix-Marseille, mit der Unterstützung der Deutsch-Französischen Hochschule/Université Franco-allemande.

Der Wiederaufbau von Notre-Dame hat neue methodische Zugänge in der Kunstgeschichte katalysiert, die der Forschung der Kathedrale einen Erkenntnisgewinn versprechen. Der von der Deutsch-Französischen Hochschule geförderte Studienkurs zielt darauf ab, aktuelle Ansätze zur Erforschung der Kathedrale zu diskutieren und interdisziplinäre wie spezialisierte Fragestellungen zu fördern. Forte du succès de ses deux précédentes éditions – avec plus d’une trentaine de candidatures, venues d’étudiant·e·s de plus de vingt écoles et universités différentes en France, dont près de la moitié en région – la Bourse Mennour pour la recherche en histoire de l’art est renouvelée.

Soucieuse d’encourager l’écriture de l’histoire de l’art, la galerie apportera à nouveau un soutien à la recherche, dans le cadre du Mennour Institute, avec deux nouvelles dotations d’une valeur de 5 000 euros chacune, qui seront attribuées à deux étudiant·e·s inscrit·e·s ou en attente d’inscription en doctorat en France.

Nuncius is a peer-reviewed and international journal devoted to the history of the material and visual culture in science. Research Fellowships, Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) offers short-term fellowships to support research projects that engage substantively with the museum’s collections. These awards are open to academics, curators, doctoral candidates, and independent scholars seeking funding for up to four weeks of on-site research.

These fellowships are open to curators, academics, independent scholars, and doctoral students working in any area of British visual and material culture. Applicants may be of any nationality. North American predoctoral applicants must have completed all academic requirements except the dissertation to qualify.

The Burlington Magazine’s Travel Bursaries

The Burlington Magazine’s Travel Bursaries to study collections of European drawings.

We are delighted to announce a new initiative: The Burlington Magazine Travel Bursaries, generously funded by the Rick Mather David Scrase Foundation.

These bursaries are designed to support emerging art historians undertaking research on old master drawings. The awards will fund travel to major collections worldwide to study works of Western art on paper from the Renaissance to 1900.

Typical awards will range from £2,000–£2,500 for travel within Europe and £3,000–£3,500 for intercontinental travel. Applications are welcomed from postgraduate and curatorial researchers worldwide.
