 Heidelberg University is offering 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship or 3 PhD Scholarships in the Art Histories of China, Japan, and Europe, respectively, within the Cluster “Asia and Europe in a Global Context,” funded by the German Federal Excellence Initiative. The position/s shall begin from 1 January 2013, but a later appointment may be considered.
The three-year position/s are situated within the research group MC4 ‘Frames and Framing in Transcultural Interactions’ and shall take a new look at the processes of material and textual “en-framings” (mountings, texts, pictorial additions and adaptations) of specific paintings and objects as they travel from one cultural environment to another. The Wolfsonian is a museum and research center in Miami Beach, Florida, USA, that promotes the examination of modern visual and material culture. S’il faut en croire le site de l’INIST,« L’Inist-Cnrs facilite depuis 20 ans le travail des chercheurs, ingénieurs et professionnels de l’information en matière d’accès, de signalement, de diffusion et d’archivage de l’information ». C’est sans doute pourquoi, l’INIST avait, il y a quelques années, laissé tomber la Bibliographie d’histoire de l’art qui ne s’en est pas remise, sans se soucier beaucoup de faire disparaitre ainsi un outil remarquablement performant et mondialement utilisé pour la recherche en histoire de l’art… Cet institut du CNRS avait certainement mieux à faire en créant Refdoc « guichet unique de fourniture de documents pour les utilisateurs à la recherche de copies de documents scientifiques et techniques » (toujours d’après le site …). A two-day conference is planned to accompany the major exhibition “Jordaens and the Antiquity” (Kassel, Museum Fridericianum, March 1st- June 16th 2013).
