The LOEWE Research Cluster Architectures of Order is an interdisciplinary research project (2020-2023) of the Goethe University Frankfurt and Technical University of Darmstadt, with the Max-Planck-Institute for European Legal History and the Deutsche Architekturmuseum as associated partners.  L’Institut national d’histoire de l’art organise le colloque : « Bâtir en pan de bois à la campagne et à la ville aux XIIIe – XVIIIe siècles : approche pluridisciplinaire d’une technique de construction en Europe » les 3 & 4 novembre 2020. Après une journée d’études consacrée spécifiquement à l’architecture rurale en pan de bois en novembre 2019, ce colloque a pour but d’étendre la réflexion aux édifices sis en milieu urbain afin de détecter d’éventuelles interactions. Le vernaculaire contemporain semble constituer un domaine culturel à part entière, regroupant des manières de faire linguistiques, architecturales, paysagères, picturales, matérielles, relevant de la création artistique et littéraire, ou encore de la production d’objets et d’agencements pratiques. Il n’apparaît plus seulement comme une déclinaison, plus populaire et informelle, de l’idée de traditionnel. En architecture, il embrasse des modes de construction non standardisés, peu durables, issus de savoir-faire non académiques et instables, qui épouseraient la variabilité, parfois importante, des conditions sociales et des milieux géographiques.

 Theodor Fischer Award 2020 The Association of Friends of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, Munich (CONIVNCTA FLORESCIT), offers an annual award for early career research in the field of the history of architecture from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century.
The purpose of this award, named after the architect Theodor Fischer (1862-1938), is to encourage younger scholars to bring the results of their work to the attention of a broader public.
