 The Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks candidates for a one year fellowship in interpretation, beginning September 2013 and ending August 2014. This Kress Interpretive Fellow, supported by a grant from the Samuel H.  The Print Room of the Groeningemuseum in Bruges – formerly called the Steinmetzcabinet – has not received the attention that it deserves. Few people are aware of its existence, let alone of the quality and quantity of its collection. In order to increase the visibility of this rich collection, the Groeningemuseum has started – in collaboration with the Flemish Art Collection – with the digitalisation of the works on paper. Approximately 15000 prints and 4000 drawings are systematically inventoried in an online database, accessible through the website of the Flemish Art Collection: www.vlaamsekunstcollectie.be and www.europeana.eu.

 Placé et organisé sous le haut patronage du Conseil de Coopération franco-néerlandais et de l’Ambassade des Pays-Bas en France, le prix d’Amsterdam a pour objectif de récompenser tous les deux ans un jeune diplômé d’un établissement supérieur français afin de l’inciter à poursuivre des recherches en sciences humaines et sociales aux Pays-Bas et en particulier à Amsterdam.
La dotation de ce prix d’excellence est de 15.000 €. Le prix sera décerné pour la deuxième fois en 2013. Il sera remis au lauréat à la résidence de l’Ambassadeur des Pays-Bas en France.

 Rubens scholars kindly are invited to submit original articles for the next issue of the Rubensbulletin, the online journal of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. The Rubensbulletin focuses on art historical research topics related to the work of Peter Paul Rubens and his assistants.
The title of the electronic periodical refers to the Rubens Bulletijn, a journal that appeared in Antwerp from 1882 to 1910 and that used to disseminate sources on Rubens and his contemporaries across the world.  L’appel à candidatures pour les bourses Eole 2013 est ouvert. Ces bourses, accordées par le Réseau Franco-Néerlandais, sont destinées à stimuler et soutenir la mobilité des étudiants en master et des doctorants, toutes disciplines confondues, pour effectuer un séjour d’études, de recherche ou un stage aux Pays-Bas.
Ces bourses d’un montant variant de 500 à 1000€, s’adressent en particulier à des doctorants devant faire un séjour de recherche aux Pays-Bas dans le cadre de leur formation doctorale. Elles peuvent favoriser le bon fonctionnement d’une thèse en cotutelle. Ces bourses sont attribuées sur la base d’une sélection stricte des meilleurs projets.

 On October 31st 2013 IRPA-KIK organises a conference on management and conservation of photographic collections. Many institutions (museums, libraries, archives, etc.) that have photographic collections are facing problems concerning their management: storage, inventory, digitalization, access, copyright issues, status and value attached to the collection etc. The conference offers professionals who are confronted with these problems an occasion to develop a practical and ethical framework for the conservation of photographic collections.
If you would like to present a paper on one of the diverse topics concerning this theme, you can send your proposal to IRPA-KIK before March 31 2013.

 L’active réflexion menée, à partir des années 1730, sur les vestiges antiques de Campanie et, simultanément, sur l’ornementation rocaille des temps modernes, dépasse largement le débat d’ordre matériel et technique sur la pratique des arts décoratifs. Cette réflexion engage avant tout, pour l’homme des Lumières, une idéologie a priori : celle d’une possible régénération des arts et des institutions, inscrite elle-même dans un projet, à la fois politique et moral, d’un nécessaire progrès des mœurs.  Le catalogage et la numérisation du fonds de recueils d’ornements de la Bibliothèque de l’INHA collections Jacques Doucet, riche d’environ 650 volumes pour une période allant du XVIe siècle au début du XIXe siècle, constitue l’axe central du programme Histoire de l’ornement. Dans ce cadre, l’Institut national d’histoire de l’art a choisi de faire porter sa réflexion sur les relations entre les modèles et les objets. A two-day conference is planned to accompany the major exhibition “Jordaens and the Antiquity” (Kassel, Museum Fridericianum, March 1st- June 16th 2013). The aim of the conference is to highlight the oeuvre of Jacob Jordaens and major contemporary painting workshops of 17th Century Flanders in collaboration with art historians and conservators.
