Présentation de la revue Sculptures
L’étude de la sculpture à l’époque contemporaine (du XIXe siècle à nos jours) a désormais sa revue scientifique. Portée par les Presses universitaires de Rouen et du Havre (PURH), elle est annuelle. Centrée sur l’étude d’une temporalité associée à la naissance de la modernité, la revue « Sculptures » propose de s’ouvrir à des thématiques larges (la performance, la guerre, l’exposition…). Volontairement diachronique, elle souhaite montrer l’existence de créations et de transformations, de permanences et de recyclages intellectuels, théoriques et pratiques dans le champ d’une discipline majeure des beaux-arts. La revue croisera les regards autour d’enjeux historiques, épistémologiques, sociologiques, philosophiques, techniques et iconographiques.

 Recently the subject of color in antiquity has found a voice and has received considerable attention in scholarship. The reconstruction of ancient monuments and material culture has been one aspect of this discussion. Studies of race and color in the ancient world have also been considered. The subject of color, however, may also be considered from a global viewpoint that addresses world historical approaches and the complex interconnections that exist in trade.  The media coverage and debate of migration and integration is generating a continuous and swiftly growing stream of visual representations. How does migration research respond to this markedly increasing importance and contemplation of the role of images, icons and codes – the visual turn? In 2014, the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies at the University of Osnabrueck (IMIS, www.imis.uni-osnabrueck.de) devotes a volume of its Journal (IMIS-Beiträge) to the visual aspects of migration debates.  Photographies au microscope, diagrammes, illustrations techniques, cartes, graphiques. The artist and the canonization, the commodification of the images of the artist and his oeuvre; the popularisation of Leonardo, or just making academic knowledge accessible to a public; as it seems happening in La vita di Leonardo da Vinci; combining fiction and documentary.

Développée notamment à partir des textes de Foucault, elle nomme un espace institutionnel qui fonctionne sur le modèle de machines à faire voir et à faire parler.
