A Unique MA: Investigating American and European art markets and cultures of collecting from the Renaissance to the present day, the MA is taught by staff from the University of Buckingham, the National Gallery and Waddesdon Manor.

Depuis l’avènement de cette décennie, l’histoire de l’art numérique bénéficie aux États-Unis d’une présence accrue au sein de notre discipline. Un rapide regard sur l’actualité récente de l’histoire de l’art numérique nord-américaine — colloques et conférences, publications, bourses ou programmes d’enseignement — suffit pour s’en convaincre. Cet accroissement d’activité sur le sujet peut être lu comme l’inscription naturelle de l’histoire de l’art dans son époque et dans le domaine des humanités numériques au sens large. Les Archives de la critique d’art (ACA) ont été créées en 1989 par l’AICA France (Association internationale des critiques d’art) avec quelques critiques et universitaires convaincus de la nécessité d’un tel projet pour la recherche, les professionnels et le public. Ces archives, émanant de critiques et de professionnels de l’art (artistes, galeries, revues, centres d’art et autres organismes dédiés à l’art contemporain), ont permis de réunir à Rennes un ensemble exceptionnel de documents concernant l’art, la critique, les débats et les institutions depuis 1945, aussi bien en France que dans le monde.
